Al Nassr has reportedly given the green light to Al-Fayha and Al-Riyadh to begin official negotiations
for the transfer of Ivorian international Ghislain Konan during the ongoing summer transfer window.
Konan, a key player for Al Nassr, has one year remaining on his contract, which is set to expire next July.
However, the player’s desire for a long-term contract, rather than a one-year loan, has delayed the transfer process.
According to Saudi press sources, Konan’s agent recently requested a financial settlement from Al Nassr, seeking
a partial payment for the new season’s contract, which starts in mid-August. This request was declined, as
the club aims to offload the player without incurring financial burdens. Notably, Al Nassr’s head coach, Luis Castro,
excluded Konan from the team’s recent friendly against Porto, indicating that the Ivorian left-back is not
part of his plans for the upcoming season.
About Ghislain Konan
Ghislain Konan is a talented left-back who has been a vital part of the Ivorian national team, winning the Africa Cup of Nations
in its latest edition. Known for his speed, defensive prowess, and ability to contribute offensively, Konan has made
significant contributions to Al Nassr since joining the club. However, with only a year left on his contract, his
future at the club appears uncertain as negotiations for his departure continue.
About Al Nassr
Al Nassr is one of Saudi Arabia’s most prestigious football clubs, based in Riyadh. Established in 1955,
the club has a rich history and a strong fan base. Al Nassr has won numerous domestic titles, including
the Saudi Pro League, King’s Cup, and Saudi Super Cup. The team is known for its impressive roster,
which includes international stars and local talents. The club has recently been in the spotlight for its
ambitious transfer strategies and commitment to strengthening the squad.
Seko Fofana’s Potential Move
Meanwhile, another Ivorian player, Seko Fofana, is also nearing a transfer, with reports indicating that a move to
Al-Ettifaq is almost finalized. The deal’s completion is pending some administrative procedures. Fofana, who also
played for the Ivorian national team and won the Africa Cup of Nations, spent the second half of the last season on
loan at Al-Ettifaq. His performances caught the eye of the club’s head coach, Steven Gerrard, who has requested
Fofana’s permanent acquisition.
As Al Nassr prepares for the new season, the departures of Konan and Fofana signal a shift in the team’s composition.
The club’s management continues to navigate the transfer market, aiming to build a squad capable of competing at the highest level.
Fans eagerly await the finalization of these deals and the subsequent reinforcements that the club may bring in.
